Interested in sports for as long as he can remember, Atsushi has devoted himself into the field of sports training and Kinesiology. Atsushi majored in Sports Training at Human Academy in Tokyo, Japan in 2005. He received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University in 2011 and became a certified personal trainer from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). From there, he continued his studies with massage and completed the LMT program from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2013, which had added benefits of providing a deeper knowledge of the body, as well as, a license to practice.
With the strong knowledge of athletics and kinesiology, 800 clinical hours inside and outside of the athletic training room, and 4-year massage practice experiences, he discovered the countless benefits of massage therapy and is amazed how much impact he could make on people' life. His specialty is medical massage, especially patients with orthopedic problems which include post-surgery, sports injury, limited ROM, and etc. As a certified athletic trainer, he has dealt with a lot of sports injuries which gives him better understandings of the body and injuries. Basing on patients' needs and goals, he is also very skillful to tailor different massage techniques and modalities into massage therapy.
His passion for manual healing therapy has further led him to Chinese Medicine. Currently, he has completed over 1,000 clinical hours as an acupuncture intern at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine which greatly expands his health care profession. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to share the benefits of massage and acupuncture to the community of Living Stream Wellness.
